Calvin volunteered for service and entered the Army
Air Force on April 23, 1943 at the age of 18 and attended Basic Training at
Maxwell Field Alabama. He served 2 years in England during World War II. His
duties included driving 2 ½ ton trucks. Calvin
was honorably discharged on November 19, 1945.
Calvin came home from active duty in England on July 4, 1945. He was met at the train station in Connellsville by his girl friend Gladys Williams. They became engaged the next day and married on 07 July 1945. He was to return to active duty in the pacific when the war ended.

Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and WWII Victory Medal
