Robert P. McLuckey


23 September 1924 - 1982


Robert was the Mayor of Connellsville from 1958 - 1962

In 1973 he was again Mayor and completed a term of office for Mayor Harry Dolde.


He was also the Connellsville High School Principal from 1966 - 1982.


US Army 22 March 1943 - 31 January 1946


Robert attended the US Army airplane mechanics school, Seymour Johnson Field, North Carolina for 15 weeks.  He was taught repair and maintenance of aircraft and engine.  He also attended the aircraft instrument school, Chanute Field, Ill., for 7 weeks.  He was taught repair and maintenance of aircraft instruments.


From 1943 - 1946 Robert worked as an airplane instrument mechanic in combat areas in the Pacific Theater of Operations.  He tested and analyzed the functioning of aircraft instruments to reveal defective units.  He also disassembled and replaced defective parts and utilized specialized testing equipment.


Robert was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, and the WWII Victory Medal.
