Raymond Lewellen

Brothers Roy and Raymond Lewellen are sons of Herbert and Sarah (Basinger) Lewellen of Bullskin Township where both joined the United States Army.

Raymond was a mechanic with the 1541st unit involved in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign.

While serving in Guadalcanal he was injured and spent the next several months in the Army hospital.

Raymond was discharged from the Army Air Force as a Sergeant. Raymond served in WWII from November 1942 - 1946.
